Sept. 5, 2010 Louisville to Fairfield

Before leaving Louisville, Ky we had to check out the world famous Home of the Louisville Slugger baseball bats. Sunday morning was really quiet for that part of the city and we had no trouble finding the multi-stored bat with the apparently blasted ball buried in the nearby building's skin. That building was home to the Kentucky Mirror and Plate Glass Company!
A trip to Churchill Downs was a must as well, and alas, it was also closed. But that fact did not diminish our newly formed resolve to check out the Kentucky Derby next time it is televised---just to remind ourselves that "we've been there"!
We did have one further episode in this yearly saga, at a Bob Evans Restaurant, but we have no photos to prove our story, so it shall remain untold--here.
Next, and last stop, Fairfield. It's always so good to go, and so very good to get back home again. Now for next year's vacation . . . let's see . . .
