May 4, 2010 La Paz Flag Vendor
Last September 16th was Mexican Independence Day -- as well as my birthday. It was easy for me to imagine that the miles long and hours long parade was all to honor my birthday! Well maybe it wasn't that easy. One of my favorite photos was taken of this flag vendor. Quite colorful and a welcome challenge for my watercolor enthusiasm.
April 16, 2010 Zampa Lighthouse
Just a mile or so from my former husband's home on Okinawa, Japan is a gorgeous area along the South China Sea. Certainly within easy walking distance, I spent many hours here while visiting Ron in the fall of 2008. This is a working lighthouse and it's light could easily be seen from Ron's balcony and yard. One of the last adventures I took involved climbing to the top of the lighthouse -- but what a view I was privvy to at the top!!
